The price of your tattoo will depend on how much time it will take for us to complete it.
We ask for a deposit of £40 for hourly sessions and £100 for day sessions, and all of these fees need to be paid upfront when you make your booking.
We can’t refund these deposits – but they will go towards the end cost of your tattoo. Cushty.
We only tattoo customers over 18 years of age. No ifs, no buts. If you’re lucky enough to look little a little’un, we’ll need to see ID when you arrive at the studio. Your passport or driving licence will do.
Are you having a bubble? Of course we do! We do things by the book at Penny Black. We ask everyone who passes through our doors to fill out our tattoo consent form, which contains a medical checklist. We need this information for our own records (and for your safety, too). No consent form, no tattoo. Simple as.
Crikey, that’s a shame. Well, you need to tell us at least 48 hours before you’re scheduled to come in. If you don’t, your deposit will be forfeited, and we’ll have to keep your bread and honey. Sorry m’dears – that’s just the way it is.
48 hours, please. That way, we can give your slot to another punter.
Yeah. We’ll always ask you to sign-off the artwork before we pick up the ink. This means that you have accepted total responsibility for checking any names, spellings, dates or translations in your tattoo.
When you’re all done and dusted and ready to leave the studio, you’ll be given an aftercare form. It’s your responsibility to read through this and make sure you fully understand it BEFORE you go on your merry way. If you have any questions, this is the time to ask us. But if you need anything from us later on, you can always call the studio and we’ll do our best to get you out of any pickle.
Make sure you keep your tattoo totally covered up for 1-2 hours.
Wash the tattoo gently 2-3 times a day with soap and warm water to stop plasma from crusting on top of your skin.
Keep the tattooed area out of the sun, and stay away from heat and chlorine. These three things will dry out the skin and stop it from healing as quickly.
We only recommend oil or oil-based ointment for first 3 days. Our personal favourite is Hustle Butter Deluxe Organic, as this settles into the skin where your tattoo is situated. We don’t reckon you should use creams like Bepanthen or Sudocrem, ‘cos they are really only suitable for surface treatments.
After the first 3 days, keep your skin moisturised with all-natural lotion. For extra protection, keep using the Hustle Butter Deluxe Organic ointment twice a day – it’s a real good’un, and your tattoo will thank you for it further down the line!
If you’ve been sticking to the above but you’re still having murders with your new tattoo, don’t get yourself into a two and eight. Give us a bell in the studio on 01277 500920.
